Eligibility: For children one year before they enter kindergarten. Must have a computer that meets minimum program specifications and access to high-speed internet. If not, some may qualify for use of a loaned computer and support for internet connectivity (based on income and family size.) Participants agree to use the program at home at least 15 minutes a day, 5 days a week.
Services Provided: Waterford UPSTART provides four-year-old children access to the highest form of academic support in their early education at no cost to participants: personalized family education and coaching, a new computer and Internet if needed, and adaptive educational software.

The average Waterford UPSTART graduate enters kindergarten reading at nearly a first-grade level and maintains their gains for years to come.

Evidence-based effective results through grade 4. Used in Head Start and pre-K programs, as well as with parents at home.
