Dr. Koster completed medical school at Kansas City University while also completing his MBA in Healthcare Leadership at Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO. He then completed his residency training in general psychiatry and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services/Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, MI. He is currently an assistant professor of pediatrics in the division of behavioral health at the University of Utah working as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Primary Children’s Hospital at the Wasatch Canyons Campus. Dr. Koster’s clinical interests include suicide prevention, mood disorders, medical education, working with LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, and using an integrated approach of therapy and medication management in treatment.
