Eligibility: Direct guardianship services limited to incapacitated persons with no one to serve as guardians. Priority is given to persons in life threatening situations such as abuse, neglect, self-neglect, exploitation, or those at significant risk of such problems.

Services Provided: Provides public guardianship and conservatorship services (appointed by the court) to incapacitated adults without family members or friends to serve as their guardians. Any competent adult can be appointed as a guardian. Services provided directly and contractually. Guardianship services for people with developmental disabilities may be provided through contracts with private guardianship agencies.

Eligibility: Anyone raising a child’s relative is eligible to participate in the program. Guardianship assistance is provided to anyone, regardless if they would like to be involved in the program.
Services Provided: Grandfamilies refers to a family in which grandparents or other relatives are raising
a child because the biological parents are unable to do so. This is also known as kinship care.
The goal of the Grandfamilies program is to provide support, advocacy, education and crisis intervention to relatives who take on the guardianship of relative children.

Services Provided: Guardianship Associates of Utah (GAU) provides direct Guardianship, Conservator, and Trust services to individuals who have been deemed by a court of law to be incapacitated, incompetent, or legally disabled. GAU contracts directly with the Office of Public Guardian in the State of Utah to provide services to individuals.
Provider Profiles: Those seeking guardianship of a child who has been disabled prior to 18, a new statute that went into place on May 10, 2016 allows for those children to no longer need legal representation.
