Lisa Smith is a registered nurse with a Master of Science degree in nursing. She has worked with young families since 2004, first as a home visiting nurse with Nurse-Family Partnership and now working as nurse manager for the University of Utah South Main Clinic. During her graduate studies, she researched how the community can best support teen families in achieving success in parenting and education. For seven years, Lisa taught classes to high-risk teens on healthy relationships and STD/HIV/pregnancy prevention through a PREP grant from the Department of Health. She also works on the team for the medical home project at the South Main Clinic, working to provide exceptional multidisciplinary care to high-risk patients and families. Lisa continues to seek ways to support families through education, multidisciplinary medical care, and educating nursing students, residents, and the community about primary care practice in Utah.
