Esperanza is mother to two boys, including a 4-year-old preschooler and a 15-year-old high schooler with ASD. She currently serves as Associate Director for the Utah Parent Center (UPC) and has supported families in Utah for approximately 10 years through the UPC. Esperanza has delivered support through individualized consultations and IEP meeting attendance with families of diverse backgrounds, has provided the parental perspective in systems-level advocacy and committee work, and has been involved with UPC project coordination and direction. Her education includes a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and one in Sociology. She currently has a Master of Science in Human Development and Social Policy, along with a Graduate Certificate in Disability Studies, from the University of Utah.
