Julie Steele, MN, FNP, APRN has held an adjunct faculty position (clinical) in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of General Pediatrics for 7 years. She is also an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing (Clinical) and has served as Community Based Clinical Faculty for over 10 years. Her clinical practice includes the South Main Clinic and the Christmas Box House with a focus on providing health care to children and adolescents in foster care and drug endangered children.

Julie Steele received her undergraduate degree in Nursing from the University of Utah in 1980 and her Master’s of Science degree from the University of Washington in 1987. She is currently a Mariner S. Eccles Fellow with the University of Utah College of Nursing Doctoral Faculty Fellowship in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.

In her clinical specialty, Julie Steele has advocated for children in foster care serving on the Division of Child and Family Services State Quality Improvement Committee and the Utah Alliance for Drug Endangered Children. She has been involved in research related to the health care issues of children in foster care, serves as a guest lecturer and clinical preceptor for the College of Nursing. She also has background in women’s health including private practice and public health care clinical settings.
