Biosketch:

Amber Baker received her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree from the University of Utah College of Nursing in 2012. The development of pediatric obesity modules and authorship of the Pediatric Obesity module for the Medical Home Portal fulfilled in part requirements for graduation. She worked as a registered nurse for 7 years with Bariatric Medicine Institute counseling obese adults. She is a Certified Bariatric Nurse, and an associate member of American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. She led the effort for BMI and Salt Lake Regional Medical Center to become a Center of Excellence in 2008. Dr. Baker graduated from the University of Utah with two bachelors degrees, one in nursing and the other in Exercise and Sport Science. She was the recipient of multiple scholarship awards during her academic career. She is currently employed by Bariatric Medicine Institute and treats both adults and children for overweight and obesity.
