| Services Provided: |
1. Health - provides an organized health program that includes screening, growth assessment, vision, hearing, dental, and immunization and encourages parents to become involved in the health care process relating to their child.
2. Disabilities - provides a special education program for the ten percent disabled children enrolled in Head Start. Coordinantes efforts with the public school system and other community agencies to facilitate continued support after pre-school. 3. Nutrition - provides nutritous meals and assists the children in participating in the food experience by offering family style envornment. Preparation of foods to meet family needs, guidance in home and money management, and help in consumer education so that they can be responsible for the nutritional health of the family. 4. Social Services - provides enrollment to eligible children and achieves parent participation in the cneter, home program and related activities. Assists the family in its own efforts to improve the condition and quality of family life. 5. Parent Involvement - provides a program that recognizes parents as the prime educators of their children. As contributors to the Head Start program, they are involved in the decision making process of the program. Their participation in the classroom and other activities increases self-confidence and family involvement. |
