Services Provided: 1. Family to Family - 12 week educational program for families and friends of those who suffer a mental illness. Times and locations vary.
2. Bridges - 10 week educational program for those who suffer mental illness.
3. Support groups throughout Utah for people with mental illness as well as for family and friends.
4. Hope for Tomorrow - student/parent education program for schools.
5. Provider Training - focuses on the practice of involving families in the process of hospitalization, discharge, treatment planning, follow-up, and monitoring.
6. Mentoring - a mentally ill person is matched with a personal coach who can empower them to reach for more independence and raise his/her self-esteem. For family members also.
7. Advocacy - NAMI Utah demands improved services for people with brain disorders, such as greater access to treatment, housing, employment, and better health insurance.
8. Research - actively supports increased federal and private funding for research into causes and treatments of mental illness.
9. Medication Program - assists individuals to apply, including filling out forms, for free or discounted prescription drugs from the prescription drug companies.
