Services Provided: 1. Preschool - provides the best learning environment possible for preshcoolers from low income backgrounds. Includes - In-home program to work with parents of children ages birth to three years and provide parent training, with an emphasis on child development; an in-school program for 3 and 4 year olds, emphasizing school readiness skills and literacy; and Early Childhood Education Center, a part-time child care program for children in the Guadalupe School Home Based Program.
2. Early Learning Center - provides disadvantaged students, kindergarten through third grade, the opportunity to learn skills and develop abilities needed to attain self-sufficiency. Stresses literacy skills and language development. Students from preschool have priority.
3. Voluntary Improvement Program (VIP) - a program for non-English speaking adults. VIP trains community volunteers to teach "survival English" to these adults. Mon. - Thu. evenings.
Eligibility: Students must come from an |at risk| economic background. Volunteers ages - 17 and above.
