Services Provided: 1. Open-Heart Adoptions - Placements of infants, special needs infants, and children into adoptive homes. Full adoptive family services are provided including domestic and international home studies, ICPC, pre- and post-placement classes, and individual counseling (see separate listing).
2. Pregnancy Counseling - Free counseling services are provided for women experiencing an unintended pregnancy.
3. Grandfamilies - Education, support, advocacy, counseling, and quarterly family building activities are provided for families where relatives are raising their kin's children. Informational/support groups, available for caregivers and children four years of age and older, are held for eight weeks, three times during the school year. Friend 2 Friend, a monthly support group is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6.30 p.m. for caregivers and children. Community advocacy is available for relative caregivers seeking information regarding community resources, financial help, and their legal rights (see separate listing).
4. Connections - Confidential intermediary search and reunion services for biological family members touched by adoption. Services are intended for past clients of the Children's Service Society.
5. Child Care Resource and Referral - Metro - Free child care referral services for parents in Salt Lake and Tooele Counties. Child care provider recruitment, training, and technical assistance services. Lending library of children's toys, books, and games for parents and child care providers (see separate listing).
6. Kids in Care - Emergency child care assistance for one month for families in crisis situations such as kinship care, divorce, death, illness, etc.
7. Utah Parents as Teachers - to provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life (see separate listing).
